A model is a scaled replica of a real or fictional object, produced using various materials. Model making can involve creating a prototype of a house for architectural design purposes, as well as producing accurate replicas of real-life transportation vehicles such as aircraft, ships, trains, and automobiles. The term originates from the French word “maquette.”

interactive model

Models can be created for all types of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, trucks, buses, etc.), as well as military, air, and naval systems (aircraft, tanks, ships, submarines, helicopters). In addition, buildings, indoor and outdoor spaces, and even devices can be modeled at specific scales.

To produce a model, original scale plans of the structure or object are required. These plans are obtained through agreements and transferred into digital environments. The designs are then scaled to the desired dimensions. Each component of the model is individually designed in 3D and manufactured using technologies such as laser cutting, CNC machining, and 3D printing. These components can be made from materials such as metal, plastic, polyurethane, wax, or wood. After quality control, they are finalized with painting and detailing. Finally, all parts are assembled according to the project and enhanced with model accessories (human and animal figures, utility poles, vehicles, trees, artificial plants) to create a complete and display-ready product.

Models provide a strong visual advantage in understanding and evaluating projects in three dimensions.

ATIWOW approaches its designs holistically by integrating architectural, technological, educational, and exhibition requirements, shaping each project according to the goals of its creators.

Miniature refers to finely detailed, small-scale artworks created with a distinctive painting technique and visual language.

miniature model

Traditionally, miniatures are illustrations found in manuscripts that visually represent and clarify the content of the text. The composition is designed to depict events through figures, carefully arranged to avoid overlapping.

In Turkey, the term “miniature” is often associated with realistic scale models that can also be displayed outdoors. In this context, miniature models typically involve larger-scale replicas of architectural structures and historical landmarks. Unlike standard models, they use weather-resistant materials such as marine plywood, polyurethane-based materials, polyester, resin, and similar composites. As with all models, original scale plans are required for production.

Both models and miniatures provide significant advantages in visualizing and understanding projects in three dimensions.
